Our pontoon accommodates up to 10 passengers plus the designated operator, subject to the manufacturer's maximum weight capacity. Passenger weight and gear may reduce the allowable number of occupants. Youngstown Boat Rentals reserves the right to limit occupancy to ensure safe operation.
No, you are renting the boat only and are required to have one person agree to be responsible for and operate the boat.
The designated operator must meet all applicable New York State requirements for operating a rented motorboat. Youngstown Boat Rentals provides a required dockside safety and operating orientation before departure. However, we strongly recommend that you take the course if you can. Children are welcome aboard! Under New York law, children under 12 years of age must wear a properly fitted, U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket at all times while aboard. We do not provide infant life jackets, so families traveling with an infant or very small child must bring an appropriately sized life jacket and must let us know at the time of booking.
You may take the boat on both the Niagara River and Lake Ontario. Please note that weather conditions—especially wind speed—must be reviewed the day of your rental to determine whether boating on Lake Ontario is permitted.
No, due to insurance reasons, the boat is not permitted to pull anything or anyone.
If inclement weather conditions, such as high winds, thunderstorms or lightning or rough water make boating unsafe, we may need to cancel, delay, or restrict your rental area for your safety. We’ll do our best to notify you in advance and reschedule if needed. Light rain is not considered inclement weather.
Yes. We provide U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets for all passengers. Life jackets are mandatory for children under 12 and strongly recommended for all passengers while on the water.
You’re welcome to bring food, non-alcoholic or alcoholic beverages, however, please note the designated operator may not consume alcohol or operate the vessel while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Passengers are expected to follow all applicable U.S. and Canadian laws regarding alcohol consumption. Also note that Alcohol is not permitted on this vessel in Canadian Waters.
No, our pontoon boats do not have bathroom facilities. We recommend using the restrooms at the marina before departure.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes early for your scheduled rental. This allows time for check-in, safety briefing, and loading.
You are financially responsible for any damage to the boat, motor, or equipment during your rental. Please treat all equipment with care and operate the boat safely at all times.
Yes, a waiver needs to be filled out by all adult passengers as well as minor children. The link will be emailed to you upon booking. Paper waivers are available at departure. Please arrive early if you still need to fill out your waiver.
Yes! Well-behaved pets are welcome aboard our pontoon boat. For the safety of your pet, we strongly recommend that all animals wear a properly fitted life jacket while on the water. Youngstown Boat Rentals does not provide pet life jackets.
The pet owner assumes all responsibility and risk for the care, supervision, behavior, and safety of their animal throughout the rental. Youngstown Boat Rentals is not responsible for any injury, illness, loss, or death of any pet, nor for any damage caused by the animal to the boat or its equipment.
We ask that pets be clean, well-behaved, and under the owner's control at all times. Any damage caused by a pet may result in additional cleaning or repair charges.
